I’ve decided to attempt a chaptered fanfic for the first time in years. I am going to write on breaks, and devote Sunday to writing—I’ve decided that I need a day of rest every week or I’ll go cuckoo, and Sabbath seemed to make sense to me.
It will be a 20-25 chapter (depending on how I separate things out) look at Freya and Amarant’s friendship over the course of 40 years. In it will include Amarant and Fratley’s begrudging relationship, marriages, children, hermitages, mid-life crises, avoiding mail, gray hair, years worth of letters, deaths, and the realization that things are always changing.
I am rusty as all fuck when it comes to writing and I might need some help, so…
I guess what I am asking is if anyone wants to be my Beta.I don’t even know how that sort of relationship usually works, but i think I will probably need one. If you’re interested, hit me up. I’d ask my girl, but she’s going to be without internet for a long time.
Duties will include: Proofreading, helping me better the writing, kicking my ass into actually writing every week, and whatever else comes with being a beta. Probably sacrificing a goat or something.

So the Ficlet for the “40 years in the future” picture of Freya and Amarant I did a few days ago ended up evolving into an idea for a chaptered fanfic.
Damn it.
Oh well. Upside, it gives me something to do on my breaks other than “draw some more,” since it turns out that even for people like me who have the compulsive need to do it, drawing all the time is a good way to make you not want to do it anymore. Something like writing inbetween will do me some good, I think.
Well, it was either that or play Chrono Trigger all the fucking time, so at least I’m being creative?
Anyone got a cure for profound feelings of emptiness that strike 3-4 times a week?

This thing keeps getting random surges of notes. Huh.
UM anyroad, to answer the question, Spades Slick built up this entire city from the ground up in the Midnight Crew universe. There is even a shot of it in their introduction, as well as the suggestion that there are a whole number of casinos and seedy bits that Slick and the rest of them frequent.
So they are in some back alley in that city.
And the two white carapaces are the “Doublemint Twins” — Detective OCs that I made up just to kill. Yay.
Ah, sorry! Just Freya/Amarant. I may do just a crack pairing contest in the future, but right now I’m pimping out my fandoms. :c I should probably clarify that a bit more in the post. Thanks for bringing that up!

You should try anyway! I don’t predict a lot of people will enter the contest, since it’s a pretty obscure pairing, so there’s always a chance.
And even if there’s a lot of entrants, I did say that I would separate out artists and writers so there would be 6 chances to win.
